Forensic Evaluator | Reentry Consultant | Clinical Trainer | Licensed Depth Oriented Psychotherapist
I built Anchored in Essence on one belief: that the justice system, the clinical world, and the people caught between them all deserve a clinician who understands how each one works and who refuses to lose sight of the human being at the center of it all.
Over a decade of practice has taken me from therapy rooms to courtrooms, from community mental health to forensic evaluation, from direct client care to training the next generation of clinicians ready to enter this space. That breadth is not accidental. It is the foundation of everything I offer.
Who I Serve
My work sits at the intersection of mental health and the legal system. I work with:
Attorneys and legal teams needing independent, court-admissible forensic mental health evaluations
Courts and judges requiring psychosocial assessments and expert clinical consultation
Justice-involved individuals navigating reentry, court-mandated treatment, and discharge planning
Families seeking clarity and support during a loved one's legal process
Mental health professionals — LCSWs, social workers, and clinicians — ready to transition into forensic practice or launch a forensic private practice
Organizations and agencies seeking reentry consulting, staff training, and forensic professional development
My Background
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and ASAM-certified clinician serving Oregon, I bring specialized expertise in forensic mental health evaluation, reentry consulting, court-mandated therapy, and clinical supervision. My work has included:

My Approach to Therapy
Forensic work demands precision. It also demands humanity. I bring both.
Every evaluation I conduct is thorough, evidence-based, and defensible in court. Every consultation I provide is grounded in over a decade of direct clinical practice with justice-involved individuals and the systems that serve them. And every clinician I coach receives the honest, strategic guidance I wish I had when I was building my own forensic path.
I use evidence-based frameworks including cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused approaches, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused practice paired with a deep understanding of how race, culture, and systemic inequity shape both mental health and legal outcomes.
What Anchored in Essence Stands For
This practice was built for the work most clinicians are not trained to do — and for the people most systems are not built to serve.
Clinical Integrity — Every evaluation, report, and consultation reflects the highest standards of forensic practice. What I put my name on, I stand behind.
Cultural Competence — Race, identity, and lived experience are not footnotes in forensic work. They are central to accurate, ethical evaluation and meaningful reentry planning.
Justice-Informed Practice — I understand the criminal legal system not just academically but from years of direct work with the people moving through it. That perspective shapes everything.
Professional Development — The forensic mental health field needs more trained, diverse clinicians. Part of my mission is making that path more accessible for the next generation.
Advocacy — Accurate forensic evaluation and ethical reentry consulting are forms of advocacy. Every report I write, every consultation I provide, and every clinician I train is part of a larger commitment to a more just system.
Let’s Work Together
Whether you are an attorney looking for an independent evaluator, a justice-involved individual in need of support, or a clinician ready to build a forensic career, this practice was built for you.
